MomCrush Monday: Meet Telli Swift, Actress, Entrepreneur, and Speaker

1.) You’re a mother, actress, entrepreneur, fempowerist, and speaker. What gets you out of bed in the morning?

My kids are my reason for life. I’ve always said to my oldest, who’s currently 16, that when he was born I stopped living for me and live for them. Everything I do, from business, to cooking, cleaning, speaking, etc. is always done with them in the back of my mind. I want to be their everything like they are to me. Whether that’s their superhero, mom, friend, confidant, or savior.

2.) What keeps you up at night?

Literally everything! My mind never stops! From businesses, to podcast, to guest studies, to modeling, to family, to friends, to charity, to growth, to life… LITERALLY, EVERYTHING KEEPS ME UP. I feel like we sleep forever when we pass, so might as well stay up while we’re here! So much work to be done and not enough time to do it!

3.) You founded a non-profit Boxing Wags Association, which aims to raise funds and deliver them into the hands of nonprofits that support women, children, and families. Your events have increased awareness and funds for women with breast cancer, children with autism, and those with Spina Bifida. That’s incredible!  What’s your motivation behind making such an impact on the community?

I’m naturally a nurturing individual. I come from a medical background and was a nurse for years before pursuing entrepreneurship. Our eldest daughter has Spina Bifida and it was necessary for me to raise funds and awareness towards that charity because it’s near and dear to our hearts, along with breast cancer, autism, and prostate. There are so many issues in the world that need to be addressed and are left overseen. I’m in a position to lead and use my platform to empower my peers to lend a helping hand and raise funds and awareness in our society.

4.) You’re the first woman to podcast stream on both Spotify and Dash Radio. Your podcast, called, Telli Talks, inspires, motivates, and empowers millions of women around the world.  Why is it so important to you to empower women everywhere?

My reason for my existence, my why, is to nurture. I genuinely believe I was put on this earth to help everyone (with an emphasis on women) around the world and allow them to realize their power and strength. Women deal with so much – whether that’s children, work, spouses, households, businesses, etc. – and sometimes they don’t have someone to express themselves to or an outlet to vent. The majority of the time, they mask their issues to stack and build which leads to mental breakdowns. I love speaking and motivating women and informing them of their natural born abilities to push through and be strong, lead, and overcome any obstacles they may be going through in life. It’s a dark world and I want to bring in as much light as I was brought here to do so to make the world a better place.

5.) If you had to share 3 things with our readers about how to pursue your dreams, goals, and aspirations while being a present mother, what would you share?

1. Manage your time. Have a schedule set, and make sure you handle business, but also spend time with your family. 2. Take your time. You might not get it the first time, or the second time, but if you stay persistent and have a plan, it will eventually come the way you want and need it to be. Rome wasn’t built overnight. 3 Be your biggest motivator. Dreams, goals, and aspirations start from within. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will.

6.) What is your favorite song lyric?

Speak what you seek until you see what you’ve said.
