As a mom of six children, one who has Down syndrome, and the Founder + CEO of Pink Stork, a multi-million dollar company supporting women on their wellness journey to and through motherhood, my life is a delicate balancing act. Every day, I navigate the demands of entrepreneurship while ensuring that my family remains my top priority. Through relentless prioritization and intentional decision-making, I’ve learned invaluable lessons on building a business while nurturing a growing family.

When I first embarked on the path to building a business, I knew that success would require more than just a great idea—it would demand unwavering dedication and a willingness to make tough choices. With six children relying on me, including one with special needs, I quickly realized the importance of ruthlessly prioritizing my time. From the early morning hours spent strategizing for Pink Stork to the little moments I cherish with my family, every minute is carefully allocated to ensure that I can fulfill my responsibilities both as a businesswoman and as a mother.

Central to my approach is the concept of intentional decision-making. Just as I meticulously evaluate every business strategy, I apply the same level of scrutiny to my family life. From choosing the right therapies and support systems for my child with Down syndrome to selecting the most effective marketing channels for Pink Stork, every decision is made with purpose and foresight.

One of the most crucial lessons I’ve learned is the importance of aligning personal values with professional pursuits. For me, building Pink Stork isn’t just about profits—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and families. By staying true to my mission of empowering mothers through wellness, I find fulfillment not only in my business achievements but also in the joy of nurturing my own family.

Through my journey, I’ve gleaned insights that I’m eager to share with fellow entrepreneurs who also seek to balance the demands of business and family life:

  • Embrace Flexibility: Understand that flexibility is key to navigating the unpredictable nature of entrepreneurship and parenthood. Be prepared to adapt and adjust your plans as needed, knowing that unexpected challenges will inevitably arise.
  • Prioritize Self-Care: Don’t forget to take care of yourself amidst the demands of building a business and raising a family. Nurture your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, as doing so will ultimately benefit both your personal and professional life.
